Ranchi, Jun 22 (PTI) AJSU Party chief Sudesh Mahto on Sunday alleged that the JMM-led alliance government in Jharkhand is engaged in robbing the rights of the people.
He urged workers of the opposition party to begin preparations to oust the current government in the state.
Mahto was addressing the party's foundation day, celebrated as 'Balidan Diwas,' in Ranchi.
"The Hemant Soren-led government is not only involved in theft and loot but also engaged in robbing the rights of people. The public has grown weary of this government in just six months," he said.
Mahto claimed that JMM compromised the Jharkhand movement, whereas AJSU struggled for it.
He alleged that the entire system is focused on intimidating the public.
"Neither an employment policy, nor a displacement policy, nor a local policy has been formulated. This government shows no concern for the public," he stated.
Mahto claimed that the current government came to power by leveraging women's support.
"Now, the names of six lakh women are being removed from the Maiya Samman scheme. Who will be held accountable for this?" he questioned.
Mahto emphasised the need to take the state forward with a new vision.
Welcoming the Centre's decision to conduct a caste census, he said their demand is to provide reservations based on caste.
A party official stated that thousands of party workers from all 264 blocks of Jharkhand, as well as neighbouring states like West Bengal and Odisha, participated in the foundation day event.
