BJP will not tolerate indiscipline of any kind Naik on Gaude's removal from Goa cabinet

Panaji, Jun 20 (PTI) Days after Goa minister Govind Gaude was dropped from the cabinet, state BJP president Damodar Naik on Friday said the party will not tolerate indiscipline of any kind.
Gaude, in the line of fire for his alleged statement about non-performance and corruption in the tribal welfare department headed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, was dropped from the cabinet on Wednesday evening.
Talking to PTI, Naik said, "No one can say 'aham brahmasmi' (I am the absolute) once he becomes a minister. One has to understand that he is a party MLA first and then a minister.
He made it clear that there would be no compromise on discipline within the party.
"If you have noticed, all our meetings start on time now. No one is kept waiting. All the speakers have to arrive on time," said the BJP leader, who took charge of the state unit in January this year.
Naik said similar discipline is being enforced on those who make public statements against the party or the government.
"We don't say that we don't commit mistakes. But if someone is upset with something, there are platforms where they can voice concerns," he said, adding that the party will not tolerate indiscipline of any kind.
Naik said cabinet ministers should take their concerns to the chief minister instead of airing them through the media.
He said many leaders from other political ideologies have joined the BJP.
"They have to adapt to the BJP ideology. They cannot carry their baggage of former ideologies with them," he said.
The senior leader said a cabinet reshuffle is imminent in future, but the chief minister will make all the decisions.
Naik said he has been personally reviewing the performance of ministers every three months, and the report is forwarded to the party leadership in Delhi.
