3 killed in separate road accidents in UP's Sonbhadra Deoria

Sonbhadra/Deoria, Jun 18 (PTI) Three people were killed and one injured in two separate road accidents involving motorcycles in eastern Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra and Deoria districts, police said on Wednesday.
In Sonbhadra, two men died and one was seriously injured after a speeding car rammed into their motorcycle near Parasi Pandey village in the Robertsganj area, police said.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anil Kumar, Chandan Tiwari, Rajesh, and Chandan Pandey -- residents of Pachokhar village in Pannuganj --” were returning from Shahganj to Robertsganj on a bike when a car hit them from behind late Tuesday.
Chandan Tiwari and Rajesh died on the spot, while Chandan Pandey sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment, he added.
Family members of the deceased have alleged that the collision was deliberate, though police said that, prima facie, it appears to be an accident.
"The matter is under investigation and further action will be taken based on the findings," ASP Kumar added. The bodies have been sent for postmortem.
In Deoria district, labourer Lallan Nishad, 45, died after his bike was hit by a speeding truck on the Deoria-Rudrapur Road near Kali Mandir late Tuesday.
According to police, Nishad, a resident of Tiwai Tola Bindwalia in the Surauli area, was returning home when he lost control of the bike due to digging work on the road.
The bike veered into the path of an oncoming truck, which crushed him to death on the spot, a police officer said.
