UP Police STF arrests two for review officer exam paper leak

Lucknow, Mar 15 (PTI) The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested two persons over their role in leaking the examination paper of Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) held by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC).
     The exam was held on February 11 across the state. The state government on March 2 cancelled the exam following reports that exam papers were leaked on a massive scale.
     According to a press statement issued by the STF on Thursday, "One Arun Kumar Singh and Saurabh Shukla both a native of Pratapgarh were arrested on Thursday in connection with the paper leak."
     The duo were called to STF headquarters where they were put under arrest after questioning.
     According to STF, the duo got the copy of the paper from another “mastermind” on their phone a day before the exam. The duo then forwarded the paper to others and charged money for the same.
     STF officials said investigations into the matter are underway.
     The names of the arrested accused will be added to the FIR lodged in Kaushambi district regarding the paper leak, the statement said.
     The said FIR was lodged under the Indian Penal Code sections 420 (cheating by inducement), 467 (forgery of valuable documents), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating) and 471 (using as genuine a forged document).
