Bilaspur (HP), Apr 23 (PTI) Approximately 50,865 LPG holders in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, may face disruptions in their LPG cylinder supply if they do not complete the KYC process for their connections immediately.
District Controller of the Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs, Bilaspur, Brijendra Pathania, on Thursday, informed that in accordance with directives from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, E-KYC has been made mandatory for all active gas connections.
Connections for which E-KYC remains incomplete may be blocked from booking or obtaining refills after the stipulated deadline. The deadline will expire in one week, he added.
The official said that there are currently a total of 1,30,149 active domestic gas connections in the district. Of these, E-KYC has been completed for 79,284 connections, while it remains pending for 50,865 connections.
He urged consumers who have not yet completed their E-KYC to immediately contact their respective gas agencies or distributors to get it done, thereby avoiding any suspension of subsidies or disruptions in the supply of LPG cylinders.
He clarified that for E-KYC, the LPG connection holder requires their Aadhaar card, registered mobile number, and LPG consumer number (or gas passbook).
He also appealed to all consumers to ensure they complete their E-KYC promptly to avoid any inconvenience regarding their LPG gas supply.
