Kerala CM lays foundation stone for Adani Logistics Park in Kerala

Kochi, Aug 23 (PTI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday laid the foundation stone for Adani Group's logistics park in Kalamassery, marking what officials described as a milestone in the state's industrial development.
The project, part of the state government's Invest Kerala Global Summit, will be developed on 70 acres with an initial investment of more than Rs 600 crore.
The park is designed to cover over 13 lakh square feet and will offer integrated logistics facilities, new technologies and systems to support sustainable growth.
In his address, Vijayan described the project as a new step in the industrial history of Kerala.
He said that large-scale projects such as the Adani Logistics Park will help the state, which is rapidly moving ahead as an industry-and investment-friendly destination, secure a strong position on the national and global industrial map.
The park, being set up with an investment of over Rs 600 crore, is expected to generate a significant number of direct and indirect jobs, Vijayan said.
Projects of this kind will attract more entrepreneurs to Kerala, the CM said.
He noted that the government has already implemented several initiatives for the district's growth, including the Kochi Metro, international airport, Water Metro and Infopark.
The logistics park, he added, will also align with the state's development goals.
Under the "Year of Enterprises" initiative, around 3.50 lakh enterprises have been launched in the state, mobilising investments worth Rs 23,000 crore and creating about 7.50 lakh jobs.
Kerala now ranks first in the country in ease of doing business, the chief minister added.
Industry Minister P Rajeev, who presided over the function, said the logistics park is the 97th project to be realised from commitments made at the Invest Kerala meet.
So far, projects worth Rs 35,284.75 crore have entered the implementation stage under the initiative, he said.
Leader of the Opposition V D Satheesan was the chief guest at the function.
