Wipro Infrastructure Engg sets up new biz division to invest Rs 500 cr in mfg facility

New Delhi, Jul 28 (PTI) Engineering and manufacturing solutions provider Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIN) on Monday announced the launch of a new business division dedicated to manufacturing high-performance base materials for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).
As part of the new division – Wipro Electronic Materials, the company is establishing a Copper Clad Laminate (CCL) manufacturing facility in Karnataka, with an investment of approximately Rs 500 crore, which will create around 350 jobs.
The manufacturing plant will produce over 6 million sheets of copper-clad laminates and corresponding pre-impregnated materials, according to a company statement.
The facility is developed on a 19-acre site in Adinarayanahosahalli, near Bengaluru International Airport.
"Wipro Electronic Materials marks a first-of-its-kind investment in India's electronics manufacturing landscape, made possible through the timely support of the Government of Karnataka and MeitY (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology).
"By giving Indian manufacturers reliable access to locally produced, high-quality materials, we are strengthening supply chain resilience and accelerating global competitiveness," Pratik Kumar, CEO of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIN) & MD of Wipro Enterprises, said.
WIN is a part of Wipro Enterprises, specialising in hydraulics, industrial automation, aerospace, water treatment, and additive manufacturing.
Wipro Electronic Materials will be led by Founders and Co-CEOs Tarun Amla and Neeraj Pandita, under the leadership of Kumar.
"The electronics manufacturing sector is facing a critical supply chain challenge, with 100 per cent of copper-clad laminates currently imported. Wipro Electronic Materials is proud to bridge this gap by producing high-quality base materials locally.
"This strengthens our ability to serve key sectors like telecom, automotive, consumer electronics, and AI - while positioning Wipro as a supplier focused on serving global customers and OEMs (original equipment manufacturers)," Pandita said.
Wipro posted a 9.8 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 3,336.5 crore in the April-June quarter of FY26, while its revenue from operations grew marginally to Rs 22,134.6 crore during the same period.
