Slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk founded the non-profit, Turning Point USA, at the age of 18 to spread conservative ideals at liberal-leaning US colleges.
He was shot dead on Wednesday at an event at Utah Valley University, which was the onset of a Turning Point tour covering several campuses.
What is Turning Point USA?
Turning Point USA (TPUSA), which was founded by Charlie Kirk in 2012, is reportedly touted as the fastest growing organisation of campus chapters in the US. It has chapters at more than 850 campuses. TPUSA says its mission is "to identify, educate, train, and organize students to promote the principles of freedom, free markets, and limited government".
It all began with Charlie Kirk giving a speech at Benedictine University in 2012 and it caught the attention of retired entrepreneur and activist Bill Montgomery. Pushed by his new mentor, Kirk launched Turning Point USA with Montgomery's support.

Charlie Kirk had a net worth of $12 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. He had three properties worth over a million dollars. He also owned a $4.75 million Spanish-style estate in an Arizona golf club.
Kirk's income from Turning Point USA was recorded at $300,000 in 2020 with TPUSA revenues estimated at $85 million, according to ProPublica.
His wife, Erika née Frantzve, 36, operates a ministry project called Bible in 365 and is also the CEO of apparel brand Proclaim Streetwear. She is also working as a real estate agent at the Corcoran Group in New York City.
