Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said the country is confident of United States funding coming through amid reports of US Congress approving a short-term budget excluding an aid package for Ukraine.

Kuleba said, “We don’t feel that the US support has been shattered because the United States understands that what is at stake in Ukraine is much bigger than just Ukraine.” Kuleba's comments come as foreign ministers of European Union nations are meeting in Ukraine's capital Kyiv to discuss aid for Ukraine.

All 27 member states of the EU have reportedly gathered in Kyiv to express the bloc's solidarity with Ukraine in the ongoing war against Russia. "We are convening a historic meeting of EU Foreign Ministers here in Ukraine, candidate country and future member of the EU. We are here to express our solidarity and support to the Ukrainian people,” EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell tweeted.

During the visit, Borrell said the bloc's aid for Ukraine has reached a staggering 85 billion euros. This includes 25 billion euros in military aid, Borrell said. Borrell also met with Ukraine's defence minister Rustem Umerov to discuss further military aid for Ukraine.

US President Joe Biden on Sunday urged Congress to pass funding aid for Ukraine. “We cannot under any circumstances allow American aid for Ukraine to be interrupted," Biden said. He added, “We have time, not much time and there's an overwhelming sense of urgency.”
