Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has left for London to meet with the former prime minister and PML-N (Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz) supremo Nawaz Sharif. They are expected to discuss the current political situation in the country.
Bhutto was tipped to be named foreign minister in PM Shehbaz Sharif's cabinet, but he excused himself from taking oath on Tuesday. "The main purpose of meeting Nawaz Sharif is to congratulate him on the coalition government and discuss the current political situation," PPP Secretary-General Farhatullah Babar told The News International. Since Bhutto excused himself from taking oath Tuesday, there have been rumours that the allies—PPP and PML-N arent on the same page.
When Pakistan's powerful ministry wasn't ruling the country, PML-N and PPP, the country's two main parties were alternately in power.
The oath to the 34-member cabinet was administered by Pakistan Acting President Sadiq Sanjrani after current President Arif Alvi excused himself from administering oaths.
Shehbaz Sharif, on Tuesday, tweeted, "The federal cabinet was formed after thorough consultations with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and the government's coalition allies," the Pakistan prime minister said in a tweet. "It is my fervent hope that federal ministers, ministers of state and advisers will provide leadership, and resolve the problems of the people. Work, work and only work is our motto."
