With India set to lock horns with the Netherlands on Sunday, all eyes are on new records to be broken by the Men in Blue, both as a team and individually.

India have so far won all the eight matches they played in the 2023 ODI World Cup and a victory against the Dutchmen would mean that the team will go unbeaten as they head to the semis. A nine-match winning streak would make it India's second longest victory run in World Cup. The longest streak was a 11-game run during the last four matches in 2011 and the first seven in 2015.

As for individual records, Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami and skipper Rohit Sharma could register new highs on Sunday.

Kohli is short of yet another century to break Sachin Tendulkar's all-time record of most centuries in the 50-over format. In the previous match against South Africa, 'King Kohli' equalled the 49 ODI ton record registered by the 'God of Cricket' with his unbeaten 101.

Shami just needs three more wickets to become the first Indian to complete 50 wickets in the ODI World Cup. Shami has claimed 16 wickets in just four matches in the ongoing tournament. With a total of 47 wickets in 15 matches since 2015, he already surpassed Zaheer Khan's 44 in 23 and Javagal Srinath 44 in 33 innings. Jasprit Bumrah has bagged 33 wickets in 16 matches since 2019 and 15 wickets in eight matches this year.

Coming to the captain, Rohit needs 58 more runs to score 500-plus runs in the ongoing tournament. If he achieves this feat, he will become the second Indian after Tendulkar to clinch 500-plus in two World Cups. Rohit had scored 648 runs in 2019 while Sachin bagged his 500-plus feat with 523 runs in 1996 and 673 in 2003.

The skipper needs five more sixes to break Chris Gayle's record of most sixes in ODI World Cup matches. Rohit has scored 45 sixes in 25 ODI World Cup matches compared to Gayle's 49 in 35 games. The Indian skipper has scored 58 sixes, the most maximums accumulated by a batter in ODIs within a calendar year, equalling Ab de Villiers record set in 2015. He needs one more six to break this record.
