Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit the nets as the three-time IPL champions began its training session at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday. Players and staff members of CSK were allowed to train after they cleared their quarantine period and RT-PCR tests.
The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League is set to kick off from April 9.
The former India captain arrived in Chennai last week to undergo a five-day quarantine before joining the squad for the training session.
Other CSK players, including Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu, N. Jagadeesan, were seen training at the nets.

CSK picked up England all-rounder Moeen Ali for Rs 7 crore, apart from Karnataka all-rounder K. Gowtham (for Rs 9.25 crore) and Cheteshwar Pujra (Rs 50 lakh) during the recent mini auction held in February. The franchise also picked up others including Tamil Nadu batsman C. Hari Nishaanth, Harishankar Reddy and Bhagath Varma for their base price of Rs 20 lakh.
The Dhoni-led team did not have a great outing in the 2020 IPL, which was staged in the UAE due to the COVID-19 pandemic, failing to qualify for the play-offs for the first time since the inaugural edition in 2008.
The 2021 IPL will begin on April 9 and stage the final on May 30.
Chennai Super Kings will take on Delhi Capitals on the second day of the tournament in Mumbai.
