Ronaldo’s sister criticised Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri after he said Ronaldo was lacking sharpness on the pitch. Sarri’s comments came after Juventus’ painful loss to Napoli during the Copa Italia final. Juventus have now lost two consecutive finals – a first for Ronaldo and Sarri.

“He's in the same shape as the others, like Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa, he is lacking the sharpness to do what works best for him. I didn't say much to the players after the game. I was angry and disappointed just like them, so at these moments it's best to stay silent. Right now, however, we lack brilliance and without that brilliance it becomes more difficult to beat the man, which our players are usually used to doing easily, and finding other solutions,” said Sarri following the loss to Napoli.

However, Ronaldo’s sister slammed Sarri for his comments. “What more can you do? This is it and that’s all, that’s why my darling can’t work miracles on her own. I don’t understand how you can play like this,” said his sister on Instagram. Ronaldo’s family has levelled attacks against Sarri in the past too. The last time was when Ronaldo was benched during a game against AC Milan in November.

Cristiano Ronaldo was on the winning side in 11 consecutive finals for club and country between August 2014 and June 2019. He has now lost two in a row – for the first time in his professional career. The Coppa Italia may not have been a priority for Ronaldo, but defeat hurt. He was visibly frustrated by the fact that he did not even get to take a penalty in Wednesday night's shootout defeat to Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico, with misses from Paulo Dybala and Danilo having already put paid to Juventus' hopes of victory.
