Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and chose to bat first against Bangladesh in their World Cup match in Lord's on Friday.

Pakistan are fielding an unchanged side against Bangladesh. The former champions, whose World Cup campaign has been eerily similar to the 1992 edition in which they lifted the trophy, have a nearly impossible task to beat Bangladesh by a mammoth margin to make it to the semifinals.

Bangladesh have made two changes. Mahmudullah is back in place of Sabbir Rahman while Mehidy Hasan replaces Rubel Hossain. The Tigers will, as they have so far in the tournament, depend on star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who became the only cricketer to score 500 runs and claim 10 wickets in World Cup history.

Teams:

Pakistan: Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Haris Sohail, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wk/captain), Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Amir, Shaheen Afridi.

Bangladesh: Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah, Liton Das, Mosaddek Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mehidy Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza (captain), Mustafizur Rahman.
