The Indian Coast Guard has recently announced 260 vacancies for the position of Naval (General Duty) in the upcoming 02/2024 batch.
To be eligible for these positions, you must have successfully completed your plus two education from a recognised Central/State Government institution. Additionally, it is necessary to have studied Mathematics and Physics during your plus two education.
The age requirement for this position is between 18 and 22 years. Candidates applying for the Naval and Mechanical roles should have been born between 1st September 2002 and 31st August 2006 (both inclusive). There is a relaxation of five years for SC/ST candidates and three years for OBC candidates.
Candidates must meet certain physical qualifications to be considered for these vacancies. The minimum height requirement is 157 cm, and the chest should have a minimum expansion of five cm. Weight should be proportionate to height and age.
Successful candidates will undergo training at INS Chilka, starting in September 2024. This comprehensive training program will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in your role as a Naval (General Duty) officer in the Indian Coast Guard.
Application process:
To apply for these vacancies, candidates are required to submit an online application through the official website. The application window will be open from February 13th to 27th. Please note that there is an application fee of 300 rupees, which can be paid online. However, SC and ST candidates are exempted from paying the fee.
Selection process:
The selection process for these positions will be based on a series of tests, including a Written Test, Computer Based Online Test, Physical Fitness Test, Medical Examination, and Document Verification. Candidates will be evaluated on their academic knowledge, physical fitness, and overall suitability for the role.
Physical fitness test:
The physical fitness test will consist of a 1.6 km run that must be completed within 7 minutes, as well as 20 squat ups and 10 push-ups.
