A close aide who worked with JJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav has levelled serious allegations against him. Saurabh Yadav, also called Avinash, who worked with Pratap, said that he was beaten, then stripped nude and recorded.
Saurabh alleged the incident took place after he went to the politician’s residence after attending the politician's brother Khan's reception party.
Saurabh said that after he returned from the party, Tej Pratap invited him to his bungalow. He had his phone snatched away before he was accused of rigging the elections. He also alleged that his clothes were torn and nude videos of him were taken.
The man has said that he will be filing a complaint regarding the matter.
Saurabh Yadav, who is from Mahua Ramrai village in the Mahua constituency, said that he had worked with Yadav since 2015.
In a social media video, which has now gone viral, Saurabh said that the politician had taken several controversial steps to gain popularity. He said that the more he campaigned for Tej Pratap, the worse he would be treated. He said that he was accused of rigging the campaign before the elections by Tej Pratap.
He said that he worked day and night for Tej Pratap during the campaign, but he only got a 'torn vest' and humiliation in return. He alleged that a video taken of him after the assault was posted to social media.
"I was held hostage at Tej Pratap Yadav's residence from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. While I was at a party, Tej Pratap demanded my mobile phone. I was then summoned to the bungalow and brutally beaten. My relative, Prem Bhaiya, asked me to go inside, but I was attacked as soon as I entered," he said.
He said that he was attacked in an “extremely vile” and reprehensible” by his associates. They also allegedly forced him to abuse Subodh and Satyendra Rai, and when he refused, he was beaten more.
Saurabh also said that his car tyres were punctured.
Tej Pratap Yadav is yet to respond to the allegations.
