The portion of an under-construction roof in Odisha's Cuttack railway station collapsed on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident caused panic among passengers. According to media reports, rescue operations are underway. So far, no loss of lives has been reported.
The collapse reportedly occurred while construction work on platforms one and two was progressing.
According to a KalingaTV report, the incident occurred minutes after a Vande Bharat Express passed on the track
"A portion of the under-construction roof at Cuttack Railway Station collapsed around noon, sparking panic. Debris fell on Platforms 1 & 2, disrupting train services; several trains were delayed as clearance is underway," a tweet by Orissa POST Live read.
Train services were disrupted as the debris fell onto the railway tracks. Many trains are running behind schedule due to the disruption caused by the accident.
People have been advised to check the latest timings of trains as many of the trains have been delayed due to the accident.
