Wang handed over the message and invitation from President Xi to the PM for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit being held in Tianjin. Modi thanked President Xi for the invitation to the SCO Summit and conveyed his acceptance.
The SCO Summit will be held on August 31 and September 1.
The Chinese foreign minister also shared his positive assessment of the bilateral meeting with External Affairs Minister Jaishankar and 24th Meeting of the Special Representatives, which he co-chaired with NSA Shri Ajit Doval during his visit.
Doval and Wang held the talks under the framework of the Special Representatives (SR) mechanism that came ahead of PM Modi's planned visit to China to attend the annual SCO Summit.
The Chinese foreign minister arrived in Delhi on Monday on a two-day visit. The visit is largely seen as part of ongoing efforts by the two countries to rebuild their relationship after it came under severe strain following the deadly Galwan Valley clashes in 2020.
