The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall over Telangana for seven days. The weather agency has also warned fishermen from venturing into Bay of Bengal till August 20.
In a press bulletin, IMD said, "Isolated heavy rainfall likely over coastal Karnataka and Telangana during the next seven days." The weather agency has forecast very heavy rainfall in the telugu state from August 15-19. The agency has also predicted isolated heavy rainfall over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam between August 15 and 18.
"Light to moderate rainfall at most places accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning likely over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Telangana during the next five days," IMD said.

The weather agency also suggested total fishing ban, advising fishermen against venturing into the Bay of Bengal in the following areas: Along and off Sri Lanka coast on August 15, 17, 18 and 19, over most parts of central, south Bay of Bengal between August 15 and 20; some parts of north Bay of Bengal during August 15; along and off Andhra Pradesh coast from August 15-20, south Odisha coast during August 15. Over Gulf of Mannar and along and off south Tamil Nadu coast between August 15 and 20. Over Andaman Sea between August 15 and 20." On Friday, the weather agency recorded very heavy rainfall in several areas in Telangana.
