Coastal Andhra Pradesh should brace for heavy rainfall on August 14 and 15, the India Meteorological Department's Amaravati Met Centre has warned. In a weekly weather forecast, the IMD said that Coastal Andhra Pradesh is likely to receive "Strong Surface Winds" and "Very Heavy Rain Thunderstorm & Lightning" on Thursday and Friday.

When the IMD refers to "isolated rainfall," it means that at least one or two places or an area of not more than 25% of the region is likely to get rainfall. Heavy rainfall is defined as anywhere between 64.5 and 115.5 mm, while Very Heavy Rainfall could range between 115.6mm and 204.4 mm.
Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, East Godavari, Anakapalli are among the districts expected to get widespread rainfall on August 14, while Guntur, Palnadu, and Krishna may receive the same on August 15. The people of Prakasam should also brace for strong rainfall on these days, the weather department has warned in its forecast.
