Amid Tejashwi Yadav vs Vijay Kumar Sinha row, the Election Commission has reportedly sent a notice to Bihar's deputy chief minister over charges of him possessing dual voter IDs. The development comes after Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Yadav alleged the deputy CM possesses dual cards in two different assembly constituencies.
A senior Election Commission official said, "A notice has been served to Sinha for allegedly possessing two voter cards. He has been asked to respond to why he has two voter IDs."
The notice has been issued by the Electoral Registration Officer for Bankipur assembly constituency. The ERO has sought Sinha's reply for having registered as a voter in two different assembly constituencies, and for possessing two ID cards by August 14.
Earlier on Sunday, Yadav alleged that the deputy CM has two voter ID cards and asked what action was taken against the senior BJP leader.

"Vijay Kumar Sinha is a voter from two different assembly constituencies in two districts. His name is there in the Lakhisarai assembly constituency in Lakhisarai and also in the Bankipur assembly seat in Patna district," Yadav charged.
Responding to Yadav's allegations, Sinha claimed that in April 2024, he had applied to have his name removed from the voter list for the Patna constituency, since he had applied to add his name to the Lakhisarai Assembly.
