Odisha Police are investigating a mysterious case of missing dead bodies from a burial ground at Maninathpur in Bhadrak district.
The probe was launched after local people alleged that the bodies of four people who died in the last few months had gone missing from the cemetery.
The deceased, whose corpses have gone missing, have been identified as Lakshmipriya Behera, Satyabhama Parida, Shatrughna Das, and Pramila Das, a local TV channel reported.
The villagers claimed this was not the first time that the bodies had disappeared mysteriously from the graves. As many as 15 bodies have gone missing since 2017, they said.

The residents have now demanded a comprehensive probe as they suspect the involvement of an international organ trafficking network behind these incidents, reports said.
“While going to the river, I found four bodies, including my aunt’s, were missing. This has become a regular affair. We demand a proper investigation,” a local resident told Odisha TV.
The villagers also alleged that they had filed several complaints to the police, but there has been no breakthrough in the investigation so far.
Meanwhile, Kamalakant Nayak, the inspector-in-charge of the Bhandaripokhari police station, said an investigation has been started into their complaints.
