The duo, who left for Shimla and Manali after the murder, spent six days holed up inside Hotel Purnima in Kasaul, not stepping out even once, according to Aaj Tak. Their unusual behaviour didn't escape the attention of the hotel owner, who claimed they did not even let in the cleaning staff.
Hotel Purnima owner Aman Kumar told Aaj Tak that Sahil and Muskan had not made any prior booking. "They suddenly called the hotel and booked the room on 10th March. They were accompanied by only a taxi driver. When asked for ID at the time of entry into the hotel, Sahil first gave his ID, but Muskan refused," said Kumar, who added that Muskaan had to finally agree to give her Aadhar Card. She introduced herself as Sahil's wife, the report added.
"Tourists usually visit the beautiful valleys of Kasaul, but Sahil and Muskan spent the entire time in their room. From 10th to 16th, they did not step out even once," Kumar said. Though they ordered food, they did not let the hotel staff inside. They also did not order or buy anything from outside.
The report added that the couple celebrated Sahil's birthday which fell on March 11. They asked their driver to get a cake and hand it over at the reception. The cake was later taken to their room. The Meerut Police have now contacted the Himachal Police to find out what the duo were doing in Manali.
Meanwhile, reports said Muskaan and Sahil have sought a government pleader after their families decided not to hire a lawyer for them. Both continue to address each other as husband and wife, though there is no proof for it. The jail administration said that the health condition of both were improving and Muskan's pregnancy test would also be done if needed.
