The claims of a former Army man of chopping his wife’s body and grinding her bones into powder to cover up the murder has shocked Hyderabad police. The shocking revelation came to light after the victim’s family lodged a complaint with police.
According to police, Guru Murthy, a 45-year-old former soldier, is currently working as a security guard with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The couple has two children – a boy and a girl. His wife, Venkata Madhavi (35), reportedly went missing last week and police launched a probe following the family’s complaint.

Police said the woman went missing on January 16 and Murthy had accompanied the victim’s parents when they came to police station to file the complaint. Police Inspector Nagaraju said, "The parents had lodged a missing complaint with us. The husband also came with them. We grew suspicious and questioned him,” NDTV reported.
Murthy confessed to the crime when police questioned him feeling suspicious about his responses. Murthy reportedly told police that he chopped his wife’s body in the bathroom and cooked the body parts in a pressure cooker to cover up the murder. Murthy allegedly separated the bones and grounded them using a pestle. He repeated this multiple times to avoid suspicion. Murthy later dumped the cooked parts in Meerpet lake, police said. The former soldier allegedly murdered his wife irked over a heated argument with her.
