The Karnataka High Court said the distribution of video clips, that showed former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna sexually abusing several women, portrayed every woman in a bad light.
According to media reports, a single-judge bench, while hearing a petition to quash a case against election agent of Prajwal Revanna called the distribution of videos the "most dangerous thing."
The petition was filed by a person identified as Sharath G, accused of leaking the videos.
“I tell you one thing whether you have done it or not. Any person who has done it has done a sin. Any person who has done it has portrayed every woman in a poor light. The most dangerous thing any person has done is that,” the court said.
When the court, which adjourned the matter and asked the accused to take bail to prevent his arrest, was told that there was nothing to link Sharath to the distribution of videos and that it was a case of political vendetta, the HC pointed out that while it may be a such a case, the man is not going to lose anything, but "it is the woman who will be subjected to ignominy.”
Meanwhile, the Additional Special Public Prosecutor Jayna Kothari, who has been representing the investigation team in the case, resigned on Tuesday.
