Outgoing Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbagh Singh said on Saturday that over the last five years, there have been no collateral damage, law and order incidents, and civilian casualties in the Union Territory.

Singh made this statement while addressing the passing out parade of 307 officials at CTC Lethpora in Pampore, Pulwama.

He said the word "zero" has become the most popular term in J&K for the past five years, adding, "The five-year report card of J&K suggests that there has been zero collateral damage, zero law and order incidents, and zero civilian casualties. The graph of terrorism, which brought a bad name to J&K, is also declining to zero.”

He said 'Operation Capacity Building' was launched earlier this year to equip the 43 police stations in the Union Territory with the latest weaponry, drones and a 14-member squad each for tackling 'terror' incidents. With the help of these new teams, area domination will be strengthened.

In the first phase, 21 police stations were covered, and the remaining 22 police stations are also being equipped under a zero-terror plan.

Apart from the three 'terror incidents' reported in Anantnag, 36 police stations showed a 100 per cent 'terror-free record.'

Singh highlighted that the killing of five militants in Machil, Kupwara, signifies that the enemy continues to disrupt the peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

He added, "Our border grid is so strong, and we will ensure all bids are foiled on the LoC."

He said the Jammu and Kashmir police are people's police, working for the safety of the people. "We urge people to continue their support to the police for a better tomorrow," he concluded.
