In a suspected case of ‘mass suicide’, seven members of a family including three children were found dead in Gujarat’s Surat on Saturday.
Police, after their initial investigation, said that one of the family members hanged himself after giving poison to his wife, three children and his parents.
The three children included two daughters aged three and five and a son aged seven.
"Seven members of a family have committed suicide. They have written a suicide note, and we are verifying it. After initial investigation, it has come to light that there was some dispute regarding a monetary transaction. Further investigation is underway,” Surat DCP Rakesh Barot said.
The family lived in Siddheshwar Apartment in Palanpur, Surat.
Bodies of the deceased have been sent for postmortem.
