Bhupendra Patel, who resigned from the post of the Gujarat Chief Minister after the recent election win, will be officially nominated as CM at the key BJP legislative meet on Saturday. 

According to reports, Patel along with his cabinet ministers is set to assume office on Monday. 

Patel is set to meet Prime Minister Modi, BJP national president J.P. Nadda in Delhi today at the key meet. He is set to be the CM for the second consecutive time. 

While speaking to the reporters, BJP MLA Hardik Patel said that he will accept whatever role the party assigns him. "Once again BJP has formed the government and this is to see how Gujarat becomes strong and goes ahead in next five to 10 years," he said. "I don't know, I've played the role of a mere soldier from the beginning. I'll accept whatever role the party assigns me," said Patel responding to the question of the being given cabinet position. 

"I thank Narendra Modi and Amit Shah as well as Bhupendra Patel and CR Paatil who fielded me as a candidate from Gandhinagar South. I also thank the people for giving me a grand victory. People trust Narendra Modi for the politics of development," Alpesh Thakor, BJP MLA was quoted by ANI. 

Ahead of the formation of the new government, Patel along with the cabinet ministers submitted the resignation to Governor Acharya Devvrat on Friday. 

"The meeting of the MLAs will be held at 10 am on Saturday at Gandhinagar. The governor will be informed about the election of a new leaser in the afternoon. The swearing in of the new Chief Minister and his cabinet will take place as per the governor's instructions," said party's chief whip Pankaj Desi. 

On Thursday, BJP swept the Gujarat elections with a historic win in 156 seats out of 182 assembly seats.
