Even as the country is still reeling under the shock of the horrific murder of Shraddha Walker by her live-in partner in Delhi, details of another gruesome killing has emerged from the national capital after a 21-year-old woman's body was found in a trolley bag on the Yamuna Expressway near Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. The girl's father has been arrested with police suspecting it to be a case of 'honour killing'.
The victim is identified as Aayushi Yadav, a resident Modband village and a Bachelor of Computer Applications student.
The crime allegedly took place on November 17 at her house under Badarpur police station area. Aayushi was shot dead by her father Nitesh Yadav who was enraged after she had “gone out for some days” without informing him. According to an NDTV report, Yadav was also pissed as she had married a man from a different caste and often stayed out till late night.
Yadav packed her body in a red-coloured trolley and threw it near Raya cut on the service lane of the Yamuna Expressway, police said.
The victim was identified after police traced phones, checked CCTV footage, used social media and also put up posters in Delhi. According to PTI, concrete information about her, however, was received from an unknown call on Sunday morning. Later, her mother and brother identified her through photographs.
Police claims that her mother and brother knew that Aayushi had been killed by her father.
According to reports, Aayushi had married a man named Chhatrapal, from another caste, without telling her family.
DCW issues notice
Meanwhile, the Delhi Commission For Women (DCW) on Monday issued a notice to police in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura in connection with the murder of Aayushi. The panel has sought copies of the FIR and autospy report along with details of accused Yadav by November 24.
The DCW, in its notice, has said it also wants to know whether the family had filed a missing complaint when Ayushi Yadav was away from home.
