Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has tested positive for coronavirus and has been hospitalised for treatment.
The minister took to Twitter on Thursday to inform about his health condition. In a tweet a Hindi, Shekhawat said that he got a test done after he showed few symptoms, adding that he was getting hospitalised based on advice from doctors. “I request that those who have come in contact with me in the last days, isolate themselves and get themselves examined. May all of you be healthy and take care of yourself," Shekhawat tweeted.
This comes few days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who recovered from COVID-19, was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences for post-COVID care.
On Thursday, India reported the highest-ever single-day increase of 69,652 COVID-19 positive cases, and 977 deaths.
Meanwhile, the latest sero-prevalence survey in the national capital revealed that antibodies against COVID-19 infection were found in 29.1 per cent of people.
