Now, the complete date sheet will be released by Saturday evening. “Only north east students have to appear for class 10th exam and exam for only 12 subjects will be conducted for class 12th exam” HRD minister had said last week.

The dates were announced keeping in mind the JEE and NEET exams which would be held from July 18 and July 26 respectively. "The students have been impatiently waiting for the schedule for pending exams. It has been decided today that the exams will be conducted from July 1 to 15," the minister had said.

The results of these exams are expected to be out by the end of August before the merit list for JEE Advanced will be announced by Indian Institutes of Technology, say media reports.

Exams will be conducted for business studies, geography, Hindi (core), Hindi (elective), information practice (old), information practice (new), home science, sociology, computer science (old), computer science (new), information technology and bio-technology for Class 12, according to media reports.

Earlier, there were speculations that the pending Class 10 exams could be cancelled due to the continued lockdown. CBSE secretary Anurag Tripathy had fueled speculations when he said, ""As the minor subjects of Class 10 Board exams were pending, it can be cancelled.”

However, the board later scotched speculations. “With regards to conduct of Class 10 examinations... It is once again reiterated that remaining examinations will be conducted by CBSE. It is once again clarified that adequate time of 10 days will be given to all stakeholders before starting the examinations," the board said in a statement.
