The Gujarat government on Thursday formed a five-member committee to investigate charges of fraud, betrayal and intimidation levelled against Gujarat's IAS officer Gaurav Dahiya in connection with his marriage.

The committee, set up by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, includes three IAS officers. Principal secretary Sunaina Tomar heads the committee comprising Mamata Verma and Sonal Mishra (both IAS) and, Deviben Pandya, non-government member. Member secretary will be of the rank of deputy, joint or additional secretary.

A New Delhi-based woman had recently complained of bigamy against Dahiya. He, however, has maintained that he was being blackmailed and claimed that the pictures of him along with the woman, which are doing the rounds on the social media, were morphed.

The committee has been asked to submit its report at the earliest.

Dahiya, who was working as the director of the Natural Rural Health Mission, has been transferred as joint secretary (planning) in the General Administration Department with effect from July 22. This was following the charges levelled against him.
