Uttar Pradesh will play a 'smart and snazzy' host to the world community during the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Allahabad. The Yogi Adityanath government is pulling out all stops to make the event, which it is officially referring to as the Mahakumbh, a grand success.

The Kumbh Mela will be held between January to March 2019 in Allahabad.

Visitors to the Kumbh Mela will get an orderly welcome as the Uttar Pradesh government plans to implement a dress code for vendors, boatmen, guides and taxi drivers. If the plan is implemented, this will be the first Kumbh Mela with a dress code.

Not surprisingly, the dress code of these service providers will carry the logo of the Kumbh Mela.

To welcome pilgrims to the Kumbh Mela in a smart way, the Uttar Pradesh government has also been providing training to scores of people with the state tourism department.

According to Dinesh Kumar, deputy director of the UP tourism department, the step to train service providers has been taken to welcome visitors to the Kumbh Mela with dignity and respect. The trained service providers will be given uniforms, so that they can be easily identified by the tourists.

According to Kumar, the government has plans to train 600 vendors, 600 guides, 600 tempo drivers and 600 boatmen and deploy them in the Kumbh Mela city area.

The training for these service providers will begin from October. The details about uniforms for the different categories of service providers is being planned and will be finalised in the coming few months.

The BJP government is leaving no stone unturned to make the upcoming Kumbh Mela a grand success. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is personally monitoring the preparations related to this mega event.

In addition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also keen on ensuring the grand success of the Kumbh Mela. Modi may visit Uttar Pradesh in the next month to take first-hand stock of the arrangements for the Kumbh Mela.
