The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the class 10 results on Tuesday. The results declaration was expected to be around 4 pm, but was published ahead of the scheduled time.
The CBSE class 10 results will be available on the websites—www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in.
The overall pass percentage this year is 86.70. Thiruvananthapuram, with a pass percentage of 99.60, emerged as the most successful region in the CBSE class 10 exams. The Kerala capital was followed by Chennai (97.37 per cent) and Ajmer at 91.86. Thiruvananthapuram had registered the highest pass percentage this year for CBSE class 12 exams at 97.32 per cent.
More than 27,000 students have secured 95 per cent and above, while close to 1.3 lakh students scored 90 per cent and above.
Girls, with a pass percentage of 88.67 outperformed boys whose percentage was just 85.32. Four students topped with 499 of 500 marks.
Prakhar Mittal from Gurugram, Rimzhim Agrawal from Bijnor, Nandni Garg from Shamli and Sreelakshmi G. from Cochin, scored 499 marks out of 500 to top CBSE class 10 examinations.
"CBSE class 10 board exam was conducted after 10 years. This's basically preparation for 12th board. Those students who've got compartment should prepare again and I'm sure they'll do well," said Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, announcing the results.

The schools, already registered with the CBSE, will automatically get the results on their email IDs.
Over 16 lakh students appeared for the All India Secondary School Exam (AISSE) this year.
CBSE has decided to give two marks to all those students who appeared for class 10 English paper, because of a typing error.
CBSE announced class 12 results on May 26.
