A day after the ruling AIADMK called their one-day hunger strike a huge success, videos and images of AIADMK men having a feast during the fast has turned it into a mockery of sorts.

The AIADMK had announced a day-long hunger strike to protest against the Union government for not setting up the Cauvery Management Board.

It was not a glass of lemon juice or water to break the fast. It was a plate full of biriyani! And the protesters wolfed it down. Pictures of AIADMK members clad in pristine white dhotis and wearing party badges having biriyani went viral on social media. The pictures were taken near the Vellore Head Post Office.

That's not all. Biriyani and samosas were served to the cadres behind the stage. In Pudukottai, too, the AIADMK cadres were served meals during the 'lunch break'.

Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam sat on a fast near the Chepauk Stadium, sending out the message loud and clear that they will fight to the finish in the Cauvery issue.

The party cadres, however, seemed to have failed to grasp the seriousness of the water-sharing row.
