Kantara: A Legend Chapter-1 is recording one milestone or other every day, and the latest is Rs 500 crore club in gross domestic collection.
The Rishab Shetty film is now looking at Rs 450 crore in net domestic earnings as well as Rs 100 crore in overseas collection. As of Monday 6 pm, the movie bagged Rs 442.84 crore from net domestic collection, according to Sacnilk.
The final overseas figures for Sunday pegged the collection from screens abroad at Rs 90 crore. Combined with the Rs 524.30 crore from domestic gross collection, Kantara: A Legend Chapter-1 now has a worldwide collection of Rs 614.30 crore.
Kantara: A Legend Chapter-1 is the fourth India film to enter Rs 500 crore club in 2024. Earlier, this milestone was achieved by films like Coolie, Saiyaara and Chhaava.
Yash's KGF Chapter 2 is the only previous Kannada movie to cross Rs 500 crore. Incidentally, both are produced by Hombale Films. KGF Chapter 2 leads the list with Rs 1,250 crore worldwide.
Kantara: A Legend Chapter-1 is prequel to the first Kantara installment, as it dives deeper into the folklore on the region. It is written and directed by Rishab Shetty, who has also starred in the movie.
