'Kantara: Chapter 1' first weekend collection: Rishab Shetty movie expected to cross Rs 21 crore in Kerala box office

On Day 3, Kasaragod recorded 69.04 per cent occupancy in 28 shows, raking in 7.92 lakh while Kannur saw 64.08 per cent admission across 104 shows, collecting Rs 23.5 lakh

Kantara: Chapter 1, also referred to as Kantara: A Legend - Chapter 1, has become the second biggest Kannada opener at the Kerala box office and is minting a whopping amount in pre-sales business.

On Saturday, the Rishab Shetty movie earned Rs 2.73 crore from 1,443 tracked shows, with more than 1.64 lakh tickets sold, reported What The Fuss.

Kantara: Chapter 1 is expected to gross Rs 5 crore in Kerala on its Day 3 and might cross Rs 21 crore in the first weekend, surpassing the previous instalment's final gross collection, according to industry tracker AB George.

On October 4, Kerala saw a sale of 1,64,393 tickets from 1443 shows with an occupancy of 40.24 per cent. The highest occupancy for Kantara: Chapter 1 was in northern districts, where the ritualistic dance, Theyyam, is popular.

Kasaragod recorded 69.04 per cent occupancy in 28 shows, raking in 7.92 lakh, while Kannur saw 64.08 per cent admission across 104 shows, collecting Rs 23.5 lakh. Kozhikode also reported 52.04 per cent occupancy in 136 shows, earning Rs 30.39 lakh.

The highest collection was recorded in Ernakulam district, earning Rs 50 lakh from 243 shows. Thiruvananthapuram minted Rs 38.25 lakh from 204 shows, while Thrissur raked in Rs 36 lakh from 201 shows.
