'The moment I saw you as a hero on screen...': Chiranjeevi's heartfelt note to son Ram Charan as he completes 18 years in industry

Ram Charan's upcoming film, 'Peddi,' directed by National Award winner Buchi Babu Sana, is set to release in March 2026

Ram Charan has completed 18 years in cinema, and to mark the occasion, his father and megastar Chiranjeevi penned a heartfelt note on his social media ('X') handle.

"I am immensely delighted that your cinematic journey, which began 18 years ago with ‘Chirutha’, has today firmly established itself in the hearts of millions of fans. The moment I saw you as a hero on screen.. As a father, I can never forget it. Your discipline, hard work, determination, humility, and dedication have made you stand out even more uniquely in the industry. As a father, I always feel proud seeing you.. With the love of Telugu audiences and the grace of God, I wish that you will scale many more peaks..  Victory be yours…!"

Meanwhile, Ram Charan's next, Peddi, will be hitting theatres on March 27, 2026.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and backed by Mythri Movie Makers, director Sukumar's company Sukumar Writings, and producer Venkata Satish Kilaru's Vriddhi Cinemas, Peddi marks Ram Charan's 16th film.

Buchi Babu Sana is a National Award winner, for Best Telugu feature film, for his maiden feature Uppena (2021). Before his debut, he worked as an assistant director and writer on Sukumar's hit film Rangasthalam. Naturally, Sukumar being involved as a producer on both Peddi and Uppena is an added boost for Buchi Babu Sana.

The cast also features Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyenndu. Shot by R Rathnavelu, it has music by AR Rahman, production design by Avinash Kolla and editing by Navin Nooli (They Call Him OG).

Charan last appeared in S Shankar's Game Changer.
