Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra, the first female superhero film in India, is back in focus as the makers announced a sequel to the all-time highest grossing Malayalam film worldwide. This has given a renewed push for the movie, which is in its fifth weekend.
The video titled 'When Legends Chill: Michael x Charlie', which offers a glance at Lokah – Chapter 2. The sequel will be centred around the character of Michael alias Chaathan, played by Tovino Thomas. Dulquer Salmaan will also return as Charlie alias Odiyan in Lokah 2.
How much did Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra collect on Day 30?
Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra has grossed Rs 1 crore on Day 30, according to numbers available at 10 pm, reports Sacnilk. This takes the total gross domestic box office collection to Rs 167.3 crore.
The net domestic collection on Day 30 was Rs 85 lakh, taking the total earnings to Rs 142.9 crore. The film, produced by Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films at a budget of Rs 30 crore, collected Rs 111.02 crore in Malayalam. In Tamil, it earned Rs 14.61 crore while in Telugu, it minted Rs 13.66 crore and in Hindi, it bagged Rs 3.61 crore.
Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra has also performed well in overseas box office as it collected Rs 116.2 crore in the first four weeks. Combined with the domestic collection, the Dominic Arun directorial has earned Rs 283.5 crore worldwide.
During its first week, the Kalyani Priyadarshan starrer netted Rs 54.7 crore. There was a 14 per cent dip in the second week as the earnings slid to Rs 47 crore. Week 3 recorded a 42 per cent slump as the movie raked in Rs 27.1 crore while Week 4 witnessed 51 per cent decline with a Rs 13.25 crore collection.
