Malayalam fantasy-action flick 'Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra' earned around ₹1.78 crore net domestically on its third day across languages. The movie's total collection thus reached ₹8.48 crore, data showed. Meanwhile, its main competition 'Hridayapoorvam', featuring Mohanlal in the title role, managed ₹0.79 crore till the afternoon.
With the initial collection from the third day included, 'Hridayapoorvam's total domestic collection reached ₹6.54 crore, while 'Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra' has collected ₹8.48 crore, Sacnilk claimed. As per the website, the Kalyani Priyadarshan-Naslen movie had collected ₹4 crore net on day 2. The movie got ₹3.65 crore from the original Malayalam version on Friday, while the Telugu version got ₹0.35 crore, Sacnilk said. 'Hridayapoorvam', meanwhile, had closed day 2 by collecting ₹2.50 crore across screens.
'Hridayapoorvam', which features his reunion with veteran director Sathyan Anthikad after a gap of ten years, has registered the third-best opening day at the Kerala Box Office this year among Malayalam films. The family entertainer has grossed ₹3.26 crores on its opening day, with only Empuraan (₹14.07 crores) and Thudarum (₹5.10 crores) having had a higher opening day this year.
On day one, 'Hridayapoorvam' had the edge, minting around ₹3.25 crore in nett domestic box office collection while 'Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra' raked in ₹2.60 crore in India net collection. Both movies had manged to find a place in the list of Mollywood's top-5 opening days.
