Mystery shrouds the death of Pakistani actress Humair Asghar, but even more so, such a prominent figure’s absence went under the radar. It was earlier reported that Asghar’s body was found in her apartment well into the stages of decomposition, where preliminary investigations assumed that the death occurred 15-20 days ago. But in a bombshell revelation, it seems that Asghar breathed her last in October 2024—nine months ago.

According to Gulf News, South Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Asad Raza was quoted by reporters saying, “The expiry dates of food and drinks in the refrigerator are from September 2024. The last outgoing and incoming activity on her phone also dates back to October 2024. Both SIMs in her phone have been inactive since then. Electricity to the apartment was disconnected around the same time due to non-payment of bills.”
The DIG added that the 32-year-old’s last 'last seen' on WhatsApp was recorded on October 7, while a message sent to her by stylist Danish Maqsood on October 20 remains unread. Asghar was a regular user of social media but her last Instagram post was dated September 30.
It was earlier reported that the DIG found the front door and balcony locked from the inside, leading to no immediate suspicion of foul play.
Asghar’s death has fuelled social media debate, with many questioning how her close family and friends overlooked her absence. It became clear that there was a feud between the actress and her family as reports emerged that her father, based in Lahore, would not claim her body. Her brother Naveed Asghar, is said to have arrived at Karachi to claim her body.
