Luca Guadagnino has teased his next film After the Hunt, starring Julia Roberts, Andrew Garfield and Ayo Edebiri during a presentation at CinemaCon. The follow-up to Guadagnino's Daniel Craig-starrer Queer, the film is said to revolve around a scandal involving Garfield's character.
As per reports describing the footage presented at CinemaCon, the film has Roberts playing a professor who has to deal with a troubling situation involving Garfield's character when Edebiri's character throws a disturbing accusation at him, a colleague of Roberts' character, leading her to deal with her own uncomfortable past events.
Comparisons are being made to some of the scandal-based thrillers of the 90s like Disclosure, starring Michael Douglas and Demi Moore.
A joint production of Amazon MGM Studios and Imagine Entertainment, After the Hunt marks Guadagnino's fourth collaboration with Amazon MGM after Suspiria, Bones & All, and Challengers.
Also featuring Michael Stuhlbarg and Chloë Sevigny, the film penned by Nora Garrett is expected to have a limited theatrical release in the States on October 10.
Shot by Malik Hassan Sayeed, After the Hunt has music and background score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross who also handled the score in Challengers.
Aside from After the Hunt, Roberts is starring in Sam Esmail's (Mr Robot) new thriller Panic Carefully. It marks her third reunion with Esmail after Leave the World Behind and Season 1 of the Prime Video series Homecoming.
