Tony Award winner Sam Gold will direct Adam Driver and Jessica Chastain in the Apple TV+ series The Dealer, on which the two actors will also serve as executive producers along with Gold, Lucas Hnath and Sarah Lunnie. All three have a strong background in theatre and have worked together on the play A Doll's House, Part 2.

The Dealer is backed by Media Res, the company behind shows like The Morning Show and Pachinko.

As per a report in Deadline, The Dealer is said to be a “biting exploration of power, class, seduction and culture set inside the glittering world of the high-end art market, told through the eyes of an aspiring super gallerist (Chastain) and the tangled relationship with her most gifted and unnerving artist (Driver).”

The Dealer marks Chastain's second series at Apple TV+ aside from The Savant, which she is starring in and executive producing.

The Dealer is not Driver's first time working in the long-form storytelling format. He previously appeared in the HBO series Girls.

Driver, last seen in Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis, has two promising films in his upcoming lineup: Jim Jarmusch’s Father Mother Sister Brother and James Gray’s Paper Tiger. The Jarmusch film also features Cate Blanchett and Vicky Krieps (Phantom Thread).

Chastain's recent experience in multi-episode shows includes the limited series Scenes of a Marriage (with Oscar Isaac) and George & Tammy
