‘Kuberaa’: The Dhanush-Nagarjuna starrer gets an updated release date

After repeated delays, Sekhar Kammula directorial Kuberaa has an updated release date. Get ready to hit the theatres this summer as the Dhanush-Nagarjuna starrer will hit the big screens on June 20.

In celebration of Shivratri, the makers teased the fans to gear up at 9:54 am on Thursday and released a poster with Dhanush and Nagarjuna facing each other with Jim Sarbh positioned between them. “A story of power, a battle for wealth, a game of fate,” the caption reads.

The film was initially slated to release in December 2024, with a teaser for Kuberaa released the previous month. While the teaser does not reveal much, Kummula keeping all details tightly under wraps, it gives us a glimpse of Nagarjuna as a wealthy man, and Danush, as an ordinary civilian. Rashmika Mandanna, who recently starred in Puspha 2: The Rule and Chhaava, also plays a role in the film.

Bankrolled by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao under Sri Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations banners, the film is simultaneously being shot in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. A Malayalam and Kannada dubbed version will also be released, making Kuberaa a pan-India project.

Officially announced in June 2021, Kuberaa marks Danush’s 51st as a lead actor. Filmed in Hyderabad and Mumbai, the movie features music composed by the maestro Devi Sri Prasad. Production design is managed by Padma Shri recipient Thota Tharani (Ponniyin Selvan series, Indian), while editing and cinematography is helmed by Karthika Srinivas (Swamy Ra Ra, Mathu Vadalara) and Niketh Bommireddy (Soorarai Pottru, Dragon) respectively.

Dalip Tahil, Sunaina, Divya Dekate, Koushik Mahata, and Saurav Khurana will also star in the film.
