Nayanthara has joined the sets of the big-budget project starring Mammootty and Mohanlal and directed by Mahesh Narayanan, confirming previous speculations about her being in the cast.

Nayanthara, who has previously worked with Mammootty in Bhaskar the Rascal and Puthiya Niyamam, joins a stellar ensemble that also features Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban and Darshana Rajendran, among others.

Bankrolled jointly by MammoottyKampany and Anto Joseph Film Company, the film tentatively titled AJFC_MMMN, will have both Mammootty and Mohanlal in prominent roles and not cameos.

Filming began in Sri Lanka in November last year, followed by schedules in Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates. Other locations reportedly include London, Thailand, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Delhi, and Kochi.

Nayanthara joined the Kochi schedule.

The film billed as a thriller is editor-turned-director Mahesh Narayanan's biggest venture yet. He is known for the films Take Off, CU Soon, Malik, and Ariyippu. He also debuted as a cinematographer with the Fahadh-starrer Malayankunju, for which he wrote the script.

It's not yet known when the filming will be complete given the multiple schedules spread across different parts of the globe.

Mammootty's next immediate release is Bazooka co-starring Gautham Menon and directed by Deeno Dennis. The film is slated for release on April 10, 2025.

Mohanlal has the Lucifer sequel Empuraan coming up on March 27, 2025. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and written by Murali Gopy, the film's cast also comprises Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, and Indrajith Sukumaran, among others.

In addition to the Mahesh Narayanan film, Nayanthara will be seen next in the Netflix film Test with R Madhavan and Dear Students with Nivin Pauly.
