Do Aur Do Pyaar, LSD2, Silence 2: OTT and theatre releases this week

Vidya Balan-starrer 'Do Aur Do Pyaar' is set to hit the theatres on April 19

Though there aren't many big theatre releases, we have two animated movies hitting the screens this week. While 'Luv You Shankar' and 'Appu' promise to be treated for animation lovers, Vidya Balan is back with a comic outing 'Do Aur Do Pyaar'.

THEATRICAL RELEASES

1. Do Aur Do Pyaar

Release date: April 19

Vidya Balan returns to the silver screen in this rom-com "Do Aur Do Pyaar," directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta. The film also stars Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D'Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy. Game for a light-hearted take on life after marriage and the twists and turns in the lives of two married couples? Then, book your tickets for 'Do Aur Do Pyaar'.

2. LSD2 - Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2

Release date: April 19

The highly-anticipated sequel to the 2010 film delves into the raw and real portrayal of modern relationships through technology. Directed by Dibakar Banerjee and produced by Ekta Kapoor, the movie features Bonitta Rajpurohit, Nimrit Ahluwalia, and Anu Malik. Mouni Roy and Tusshar Kapoor play cameo roles. Transgender actor Bonitta Rajpurohit is set to make her debut in LSD2. On her role, Rajpurohit says: "There was a time when trans people were not as visible in mainstream media. But now, I see some changes, and when I am part of that change, I feel honoured."

3. Civil War

Release date: April 19

The American dystopian war film, directed by Alex Garland, is set in the future where a civil war breaks out, and a group of military journalists from across the country aims to reach Washington D.C. before havoc ensues. The film boasts an ensemble cast including Kristen Dunst, Wagner Moura, and Cailee Spaeny, among others. Despite offering different genres to explore, the movie did not perform well in theatres in the US and UK.

OTT RELEASES

1. Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout

Release date: April 16

Streaming platform: Zee5

ACP Avinash Varma returns with the second instalment of the 'Silence' franchise. Avinash and his team are all set to uncover the truth behind a shootout that occurred in a bar in Mumbai. The plot thickens as they peel off the layers of truth and find themselves entangled in bigger and darker mysteries. ACP Avinash is portrayed by Manoj Bajpayee, along with Prachi Desai, Sahil Vaid, and Vaquar Shaikh. Directed by Aban Bharucha Deohans, the movie promises a suspenseful, thrilling watch.

2. See You in Another Life

Release date: April 17

Streaming Platform: Disney Plus Hotstar

The intriguing Spanish crime series, created by Jorge Sánchez-Cabezudo and Alberto Sánchez-Cabezudo, is based on Manuel Jabois' book and revolves around the Madrid train bombings of 2004. Tamara Casellas, Pol López, and Roberto Gutiérrez are among the stellar cast in the series.

3. Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver

Release date: April 19

Streaming platform: Netflix

Zack Snyder returns with the second part of the much-anticipated film Rebel Moon. The sequel picks up as Kora and the surviving warriors take refuge in a new place and face the challenges of staying in their newfound home. The ensemble cast includes Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Anthony Hopkins, and Djimon Hounsou, among others. The movie had its theatrical release, and according to reviews, "The Scargiver" won't disappoint Rebel Moon fans.
