Michelle Obama is launching her Spotify podcast on July 29 and her husband, former US president Barack Obama, will be her first guest.

The Michelle Obama Podcast, to be exclusively broadcast on Spotify, will be a series of interviews pairing America's first black first lady with one guest per episode. "I can't wait for you all to hear the conversations I've been having for the #MichelleObamaPodcast," she tweeted.

"My mom, my girlfriends, my colleagues, and many others all stop by, along with someone you're pretty familiar with: @BarackObama is my first guest on 7/29."

In the episode, Barack and Michelle Obama will talk about their life together since leaving the White House in 2016 — and during quarantine — in a discussion focusing on Americans’ relationship with community in a time of social turmoil, Variety reported.

Subsequent episodes will feature Washington Post columnist Michele Norris on “self in the time of COVID”; Dr. Sharon Malone, wife of former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, discussing women’s health; her older brother, Craig Robinson, talking about sibling relationships, and a subsequent episode with Craig and her mom, Marian Robinson; Conan O’Brien on marriage; and friends Malone, Kelly Dibble and Denielle Pemberton-Heard in a conversation about friendships.

Future guests also include former Obama aide and friend Valerie Jarrett.

The Michelle Obama Podcast is the first project from Higher Ground, the Obamas’ media production firm, for Spotify under their multiyear deal.
