The latest and final trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is out, and boy, has it dropped some major clues and insights into the Harry Potter universe.

Fair warning: There are spoilers!

Nagini is no ordinary snake. She is revealed to be a Maledictus—a woman who carries a blood curse from birth that would turn her into a beast. Author J.K. Rowling said that Maledictuses are not necessarily evil and can be other creatures as well.

Rowling replied to one of the many queries on Twitter that she had been carrying the secret about Nagini "only for around twenty years". She clarified that there is a "big difference" between a Maledictus and an Animagus. Rowling reiterated that Nagini is not the boa constrictor that Harry Potter set free in the first book Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, and it remains "an incorrect, but very persistent" fan theory.

In Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Nagini is played by actress Claudia Kim , who revealed her character's name in a promotional video as well.

Nagini is shown to be a circus performer in the movie. Decades later, Nagini, who transforms into a snake permanently, aids Lord Voldemort in the second Wizarding War.

So, what role does Nagini play when Newt Scamander takes on Gellert Grindelwald in 1927? Does Nagini choose to be evil because of Grindelwald? Why does Dumbledore approach Newt Scamander to move against the dark wizard? So many questions, and not enough answers! Guess we would have to wait till November 16, 2018 till the movie is out.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller and Dan Fogler in main roles.
