Abhishek Bachchan is no stranger to trolls, and is also known for some of his witty responses that shut them down. Recently, a Twitter user made a comment on him living with his parents 'even at this age'.

The tweet said: “Don’t feel bad about your life, just remember that @juniorbachchan still lives with his parents. Keep hustling everyone!” and it immediately provoked a response from the actor himself. Abhishek Bachchan had the perfect comeback tweet: “Yes! And it’s the proudest moment for me to be able to be there for them as they have for me. Try it sometime, you might feel better about yourself.”

Families being a sensitive issue among most Indians, the tweet invited a lot of criticism from many. Children living with their parents even after marriage is rather common, and even traditional, in India. When someone challenges traditions, the reaction can get rather ugly. Twitter users rose in support and admiration of Abhishek Bachchan. @maheshsenthi responded saying “Pretty much most #Indians do, don’t we? Not everything about the West need to be stereotyped.”

Indians generally occupy a questionable stance when it comes to what is a part of their culture. Western influences are inevitably present whereas our most traditional values, especially those related to families, are held sacred. Abhishek Bachchan proudly countered the idea of living with parents being shameful.

Attacking trolls is not new to Abhishek Bachchan who is always vocal about his stances. A few months back, he countered a tweet, which has been removed now, questioning whether Abhishek and wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wanted to raise their child as a “beauty without brains”. He quickly responded with a sharp remark which silenced the user almost immediately.

Trolls and memes are a major source of entertainment for the public and it gets better when celebrities take part in it, too. Abhishek Bachchan with his wit and humour is quick to respond, so when making a statement about the Bachchan family, it would be a good idea to think twice.
