A college student hailing from Lucknow caused a scare at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on February 17 when he claimed that he was a terrorist.

According to a Times of India report, Adarsh Kumar Singh, a first-year BTech student in a private college in Bengaluru was not doing well in his studies. He was called home by his parents and had booked a flight to Lucknow.

However, he changed his mind at the last minute as he feared that he would be scolded by his parents for doing poorly in his studies. He disembarked from the Lucknow-bound Air Asia flight a few minutes before the take-off and told the CISF personnal that he was a "terrorist."

When he came near the arrival corridor, he was asked by the CISF (Central Industrial Security Force), who were alerted by the cabin crew, about why he wanted to cancel the trip. He told them that he was a "terrorist".

This created panic among travellers and Singh was immediately detained for questioning.

During the interrogation, he revealed the real reason for cancelling the trip.

Singh was released on bail on Tuesday.
